According to the new Executive Order, starting 07/01/20 anyone traveling into the San Juan airport must show proof that they are not infected with COVID-19. This can be done by getting tested prior to your arrival and showing proof of a negative result or you must be tested at the airport upon arrival. The test will be mandatory if you do not show a negative result from a prior test. The test is free of charge. We anticipate that the wait times to exit the airport may be extended due to this new measure.

Directions to Desk

Charlie Car Rental is our ACE vehicle provider in San Juan. Complimentary Airport shuttle (SJU) is available everyday 24 hours from our Isla Verde (main office) location when a vehicle is rented or returned. Once you have all baggage, please call 787-728-2419 for pick-up service.

Driver Details

Rates are for renters 25 years or older. A valid driver's license and a major credit card in the renter’s own name must be presented at time of pick up. A foreign driver’s license can be used as long as we can identify the drivers name, home address, driver’s license number and expiration date. IDLs are also accepted. Any adjustments or changes to the reservation may result in a change of rate.

Delayed Flight

It is our policy to hold reservations up to four hours beyond the scheduled arrival time, subject to published office hours. If you experience delays, please contact the rental office so that they can make their best effort to extend your reservation.

Toll Pass

Charlie Car Rental offers two optional toll EASY PASS options. Option one allows renters to pay a ONE TIME Administrative charge of $20.00 plus all tolls used during your rental. The renter uses the convenient express pass and is charged for any tolls used at a later time when the toll admin sends the tolls used. Option two is a pre-paid toll option for 6.99 USD per day with unlimited tolls. Simply ask for the preferred option at the time of rental.

WARNING: Should you not choose the easy pass option and the easy pass lane is used a $25.00 administrative fee plus all used tolls will apply.

Young driver

Renters age 21-24 will be subject to a 10.00 per day underage surcharge and may only rent Economy, Compact, and Intermediate cars. Young drivers must have a major credit card. Debit cards are not accepted from drivers under 25 years of age. Ages 21-24: LDW = $21.99/day with a $500.00 deductible.
